HomeChata is a neighborhood intelligence app for homebuyers and renters. Enter any U.S. address and receive a report covering crime and public safety, registered sex offender proximity, demographic and economic context, flood hazard zones, disaster history, natural hazard risk, radon potential, drinking water quality, air quality, and nearby amenities. The answers below cover the questions we are asked most often. If you do not find what you need, email us directly at the address above.
One credit is used each time you search an address and view its neighborhood report. Every new account includes one free credit, so you can see a complete report before deciding whether to purchase more.
No. All credit packs are one-time purchases. There are no subscriptions, no automatic renewals, and no recurring charges.
No. Credits remain on your account until you use them. If you purchase another pack while credits remain, the new credits are added to your existing balance.
No. If you return to an address you have already viewed, the saved report is returned without consuming an additional credit.
Purchases occasionally take a moment to process. Close the app fully, reopen it, and check your balance again. If it still looks wrong, email us with the approximate date and amount of the purchase and we will correct it.
Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used originally and your credit balance will follow your account. If your balance does not appear, contact us and we will restore it manually.
All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and refunds are handled under their respective policies. Apple customers can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a technical problem prevented you from using credits you paid for, email us and we will work with you to resolve it.
Your purchase history is available through your Apple ID or Google Play account. HomeChata does not receive, process, or store payment card information.
You can register with your email address, or sign in using your Google account or Apple ID. If you use a third-party provider, we receive only your name and email address.
Confirm you are using the same sign-in method you originally registered with — an account created through Apple sign-in is separate from one created with an email address. If you are still locked out, email us from the address associated with your account and we will help.
Please tell us. Use the Report Issue link inside the app, or email us the address along with a description of what looks incorrect. Two things account for most surprises: crime figures depend on which law enforcement agency reports for that address, and Census figures describe the surrounding census tract rather than a single property or block.
Amenity coverage reflects what is present in the underlying location data. Rural areas and newly built developments typically return fewer nearby results than dense urban ones.
No. HomeChata presents factual data from public sources. We do not assign scores, ratings, or recommendations regarding any neighborhood, address, or community. Conclusions are yours to draw.
Not at this time. HomeChata draws on U.S. federal, state, and local data sources, so reports are available for U.S. addresses only.
Yes. Reports can be saved to your account and downloaded as a PDF for personal, non-commercial use, including sharing with family members or professionals assisting you with a housing decision.
Only when you choose to search your current location. We request location access in that moment and do not track, log, or store your location. You can search any address manually without granting location access.
Your name and email address for your account, the addresses you search in order to generate reports, and standard technical diagnostics. Full detail is available in our Privacy Policy.
No. HomeChata does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for any purpose.
You can delete your account directly in the app. Open the Menu and select Account Deletion. No email or request to us is required.
Account deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone.
If you have unused credits, use them before deleting — they cannot be transferred to a new account. If you are having a problem with the app, email us first at contact@homechata.com; most issues can be resolved without deleting your account.
Check your internet connection, then close the app fully and reopen it. If the problem continues, confirm you are running the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. If it still fails, email us with your device model, operating system version, and the address you were searching.
Some address types — including newly built developments, rural routes, tribal lands, and military installations — may not resolve through the official geocoding services we rely on. Try a nearby street address, or contact us and we will look into it.
We welcome both. Email contact@homechata.com with as much detail as you can provide. We read every message.
